Shiny Eevee from GX Ultra Shiny (SM8b), a high-class set released in November 2018. The "S" rarity denotes a Shiny Rare, featuring Eevee in its alternate shiny colouration with a silver/white coat instead of its usual brown. GX Ultra Shiny was one of the most popular Japanese sets of the Sun & Moon era, packed with shiny versions of fan favourites alongside GX reprints. It was the spiritual predecessor to sets like Shiny Star V and VSTAR Universe. Eevee is arguably the most beloved non-starter Pokémon in the franchise. Introduced in Generation I, its unique ability to evolve into eight different forms based on various conditions has made it a centrepiece of Pokémon culture for decades. The name Eevee comes from the letters "E" and "V," standing for "evolution." Its unstable genetic makeup is the in-universe explanation for why it can branch into so many different types, with its DNA said to be irregular enough to spontaneously mutate when exposed to elemental stones, high friendship, or specific environments.
