Description

Lunala GX Ultra Rare from GX Ultra Shiny (SM8b), released in November 2018. The UR treatment gives this card a gold foil finish, making it one of the premium chase cards from one of the most popular Japanese sets of the Sun & Moon era. GX Ultra Shiny was packed with sought-after cards, and the gold Lunala sits among the set's highest-rarity pulls. Lunala is the mascot legendary of Pokémon Moon, representing the moon to Solgaleo's sun. It's a Psychic/Ghost type classified as the "Moone Pokémon," and its design is based on a bat with wings that resemble a crescent moon and a starry night sky. When it spreads its wings fully, they absorb surrounding light, causing the area around it to darken as if night has fallen. The Pokédex describes it as an emissary of the moon, referred to by the people of Alola as "the beast that calls the moon." Lunala evolves from Cosmoem, which itself evolves from the tiny Cosmog, affectionately known as "Nebby" from the Sun & Moon storyline. Nebby became a fan favourite thanks to Lillie's constant and ultimately futile attempts to keep it inside her bag, spawning the "Get in the bag, Nebby" meme that became one of the most enduring jokes from Generation VII. In the lore, Lunala and Solgaleo are able to open Ultra Wormholes, gateways to other dimensions where the Ultra Beasts reside. The ancient Alolans revered both creatures, and the Altar of the Moone on Poni Island was built specifically as a site where Lunala could be called upon. Its signature move, Moongeist Beam, fires a concentrated beam of spectral light that ignores the target's abilities entirely.
